What this service can offer you
An initial information filled session that lasts about forty minutes and takes place virtually. Together we will discuss your room, your dreams and desires plus who uses the space and any issues you are facing and we will offer ideas, solutions and a great direction for your project.
We also discuss the design process, your investment amount, timeframe, and how we save you time and money.
It is perfect for those who are happy to source and purchase products alone and can happily manage deliveries and trades people themselves. Maybe it is gaining help planning a layout and furniture or obtaining advice on colour combinations, each consultation is completely bespoke and your needs dictate the discussion.
This service option begins the process to working with us on a halfway house design or a full service design. Alternatively, it can be used as one-time service or a service that can be booked many times over.

- Explanation of the design process, how we work and what to expect
- Answer any other questions you may have
BEFORE THE CONSULTATION:
Once you have booked your session online and prior to the consultation, our aim is to build up a clear picture of your hopes and desires for your project so that we are fully informed and ready to give you tailored and bespoke advice on the day. We ask you to fill out a questionnaire.
The questions will hopefully allow you to start to think more deeply about how you would like your space/ spaces to function AND feel, so the more in-depth your answers, the more custom-fit our advice will be.
We ask that you also provide us with plans/ measurements and pictures of your space (the more detail the better!) so that we can analyse these before the consultation and in turn give more useful advice.
AFTER THE CONSULTATION:
Our advice is completely tailored to you and how you live and we endeavour to unpick the issues you are struggling with to allow you to move forward with clarity and confidence. We follow up our time together with a Consultation Notes Email.
This email varies greatly and is completely dependant on what was discussed during your bespoke consultation.
It may include a short presentation showing images of the ideas that we worked into the 3D model. You can take these images away with you to discuss ideas with potential tradespeople.
We may send you a link to a mood board that references specific ideas discussed.
Helping you visualise
The 3D model
If you send measurements and pictures of the spaces you would like to discuss, we will aim to mock up your rooms in 3D so that we are able to visualise potential ideas and designs clearly for you. This may be carpentry designs/ storage designs/ layout options/ lighting layouts furniture sizes etc.
Mood boards
It may be useful to reference inspirational images throughout the consultation showing ideas that we are trying to communicate in your design. E.g. Kitchen door examples/ Colour scheme ideas/ style examples etc
Supplier websites
Since sourcing specific products can be very time consuming, we do not advise doing this during our session as it is not a good use of time, however we may look to suggest a specific type of piece of furniture/ soft furnishing/ light fitting/ piece of artwork etc so may show you a number of supplier websites including What’s available from SKARA HOME- e.g. ‘here is a type of wall light that we have in mind that may work for your space’ or ‘this is the paint colour that we think would work perfectly on the ceiling’ or ‘this type of sofa would work perfectly with your scheme’ etc
The aim it to send you away from this service feeling secure in the direction of your design and next steps in order to create the home you’ve always wanted.
